Designed, Pattern-Cut & Handcrafted Latex Clothing in England
Every Westward Bound garment is conceived, developed, pattern-cut and individually handcrafted by our specialist team in Plymouth, Devon. Working entirely in-house gives us direct control over the entire production process, from early design and pattern development through construction, meticulous finishing, and the finished garment.
From Original Concept to Finished Garment
Original ideas are translated into wearable designs through precision pattern engineering and careful garment development. Panels, seams, fastenings and construction details are considered individually and collectively to achieve balanced proportions, lasting comfort and the clean, contemporary styling that characterises Westward Bound.
We do not outsource manufacturing or purchase finished clothing from third-party suppliers. Designers, pattern cutters and specialist garment makers work alongside one another in our Plymouth workshop, allowing creative decisions and technical expertise to remain closely connected throughout production.
The accompanying photograph showcases the Hollywood Eight-Buckle Latex Overbust Corset as part of a complete Westward Bound look. Its structured form and distinctive eight-buckle front illustrate how technical construction and specialist pattern work translate an original concept into a finished piece.
Professional Pattern Cutting, Grading & Sizing
Our experienced pattern cutters develop and grade each design across eleven standard sizes, from UK 6–26 (US 4–24 / EU 34–54). Careful grading maintains the intended proportions and character of the garment as it progresses through the size range.
Each order is then individually constructed by our specialist garment makers using premium natural rubber latex (NRL) sheeting, with consistent standards of assembly and finish applied to Standard Size and Bespoke clothing alike.
Individual production also provides exceptional personal choice. Many Westward Bound designs are available in 45 primary colours and 45 contrasting trim options, providing more than 22,000 possible colour combinations. Coordinating pieces such as the Hollywood Double-Buckle Latex Stockings, also shown in the accompanying photograph, demonstrate how separately produced garments can form a considered and cohesive look.
Standard Size or Tailored For You
Alongside our eleven professionally graded sizes, the Westward Bound Tailored For You service provides an individual alternative for customers requiring garments developed around personal measurements. The process adapts fit while preserving the proportions, styling and integrity of the original design.

Design, Manufacture & Photography Under One Roof
Our Plymouth operation brings together fashion design, pattern cutting, garment making and product photography. Keeping these disciplines connected creates continuity between the original creative direction, the physical garment and its final presentation.
This breadth of expertise extends from technically structured corsetry to precisely cut lingerie such as the Octavia Contoured Latex Briefs, featured in the accompanying photograph. Different garment types present different technical challenges, but each benefits from direct collaboration between the people responsible for its development and construction.
Our independence has preserved the skills, individuality and creative freedom behind Westward Bound throughout its history. Explore Westward Bound's Creative Heritage & History to discover the origins and development of the company.
